Introduction to welding process requirements for stainless steel, titanium nickel, and titanium spiral plate heat exchangers, hoping to be helpful to you.
1、 Prepare
1. Before welding the spiral plate heat exchanger, the oxide and impurities within the range of 10-20mm on both sides of the stainless steel welding groove should be polished clean. The range of 100mm on both sides of the groove should be coated with chalk powder or other anti splash methods should be taken to prevent splashing.
2. Before welding, the welding rod should be dried according to the instructions. When the welder receives the welding rod, take the welding rod insulation bucket and use it as needed.
2、 Welding
1. The connecting round steel between two channels should be spot welded symmetrically at two points. When the diameter of the round steel is less than or equal to 10mm, the length of each welding point shall not be less than 6mm. When the diameter of the round steel is greater than 10mm, the length of each welding point shall not be less than 8mm.
2. The quality of spot welding of round steel should be inspected 100%. If burning through or missing welding is found, it should be repaired in a timely manner.
3. Control welding deformation:
3.1 After rolling and forming, the two ends of the spiral plate should be leveled, and the channels at both ends should be spot welded and fixed as follows:
The spacing between spot weld seams is ≤ 100
3.2. Spiral plates with an area greater than 15 square meters shall be welded alternately on both ends, that is, after welding 1/2 of the area on one end, the welding seam on the other end with an area of 1/2 shall be flipped over, and then the original end welding seam shall be flipped over and welded alternately until the welding is completed.
3.3 During welding, weld from the center of the spiral plate outward.

3、 The appearance of the weld seam shall comply with the following regulations:
1. The welding seams and heat affected zone surfaces of titanium spiral plate heat exchangers shall not have defects such as cracks, pores, arc pits, and slag inclusions.
2. The depth of undercutting of the spliced weld seam shall not exceed 0.5mm, the continuous length of undercutting shall not exceed 100mm, and the total length of undercutting on both sides of the weld seam shall not exceed 10% of its weld seam length.
3. The weld seam and base metal should have a smooth transition.
4. The thickness after polishing should not be less than the thickness of the base material.
5. The slag and splashes on both sides of the weld seam of the titanium spiral plate heat exchanger should be removed.
